Our Rector is Canon Horace McKinley, who was born and reared in Co. Tipperary, where his mother was a National School Principal and his father was a long-serving country rector. He was educated in Portora Royal School, Enniskillen and Trinity College Dublin, 1971.

Ordained priest in 1971, Canon McKinley first served as curate – assistant of the neighbouring Taney Parish. Since 1976, he has ministered in Whitechurch Parish, which has seen an unprecedented volume of new housing development during that time.In 1991, he was elected a Canon of St. Patrick’s National Cathedral, Dublin as representative Canon of the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough.

Canon McKinley’s hobbies include: (still!) running 10K charity road races and being a lifelong follower of the fortunes of the Tottenham Hotspur soccer team, Dublin University and Old Wesley Rugby clubs and the Tipperary Hurling team. He is an honorary vice – President of Ballyboden Wanderers G.A.A. club. He currently chairs the Diocesan Committee for the International (Immigrant) Community.
